Strokes of Imagination: Exhibition of Stephen Osuchukwu’s Works

From Saturday, 28th July to 2nd August 2018, Thought Pyramid Art Center, Lagos will present ‘Strokes of Imagination’, an exhibition of recent works by Stephen Osuchukwu, winner of the 10th edition of the annual Spanish visual arts competition, Abuja in 2015. ‘Strokes of Imagination’ is the first solo exhibition of Osuchukwu’s works in Lagos. According to the Thought Pyramid, “In [this] collection of works …, Osuchukwu explores the intermarriage of equal and opposite forces; want and scarcity, the desirable and the available, logic and feelings, life and the struggles that surround it, as he seeks to give shape to these dichotomies.”

Born in Benin City, Osuchukwu studied art at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, obtaining an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Painting in 2005, and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Sculpture in 2007. A competent painter and sculptor, Osuchukwu is best known for his charcoal drawings that depicts everyday scenes. Below are some of his drawings.
